Triathlon Camp – Sedgefield – 1 to 4 April 2021.
We are organizing a Triathlon training camp from 1 – 4 April 2021 in Sedgefield. This will be the fourth Tri Camp that we are putting on. It will up your triathlon game and give you vital information as you prepare for your first/next triathlon. The camp will cater for all levels of triathletes, and you don’t need to be on the SBR Coaching program to attend.
Cost: R2000 per person. Members of our coaching program get a R 500 discount on that.
We will give a full refund should we not be able to go ahead with the camp due to Covid restrictions.
Booking cut off date – Monday 8 March.
You need to find and pay for your own board, lodging and transport.
Camp Schedule ( please note that we might change the order of some of these events as we get closer to the time).
We will also put time aside to look at topics such as Nutrition and Mental strategies to cope with both training and racing.
Thursday 1 April.
No event in the morning in order to give athletes a chance to settle in.
Afternoon – Running Workshop: We will work on better understanding and efficiency. We will look how to become more economical as a runner and will discuss how to run hills, flats and downs.
Track Session.
Friday.
Morning – 90 km ride with 4 km brick run.
Afternoon – Technical swimming session. We will work on your reach, catch, pull and look at sighting techniques as well as wetsuit dressing and removal techniques.
Saturday.
Morning – Long Run – options include 28, 21 or 14 km distances.
Breakfast at the Farmers Market with a Q&A session.
Afternoon – Longer swim. (Each swimmer will swim a distance manageable for them). This will be done at Swartvlei.
Sunday.
Long ride – 100 km with opportunity to make that shorter.
Afternoon – Slow 10 km run with lots of chatting and a small celebration at the end.
Dinner together.

The goal is to make the camp applicable to both faster and slower athletes, and so we will make different turnaround points on the runs, rides and swims. We will spend lots of time on both swim, bike and run technique. Notes will be provided.
